‘We have the solution,’ IMB appointees, Georgia Baptists reminded
AUGUSTA, Ga. – As Leslie Montgomery finished college, her dad asked if she was ready to go to Africa as a missionary. He had heard her speak of that desire often growing up. Her reply was one of frustration. “No, I was ready for that nine years ago. Not anymore,” she said. She’d felt the call of God to missions at 12 years old. Yet, it seemed God wasn’t opening those doors for her life. In her view, there were too many “messy years in the middle,” she says. She had given up on her dreams … [Read more...]

You snooze, you … rest
When people say you should dress for the life you want, my inner self tells me to put on jammies. I think my inner self is a little tired. I’ve also considered the possibility that my inner self is at least a little bit cat. Naps. Glorious, naps. But while that midday nap is famously fabulous, could I complain a minute about the wakeup? I’m gunna just rest my eyes. That’s how it starts. Next thing I know, only one of those eyes will reopen and I don’t know if it’s morning or…Thursday. I … [Read more...]

Pathway aims to mobilize journalistic cavalry
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the so-called “War to End all Wars” finally ended. It was a day to remember, and appropriately it has been remembered – since 1919, as “Armistice Day” and, since 1954, as “Veterans Day.” Rather than ending warfare, however, World War I initiated a new, devastating kind of war, made possible by a new, deadly machinery. In four years, “more than nine million soldiers, sailors and airmen were killed,” according to British historian … [Read more...]
Volunteer teams vital to reaching desert people group
By Rory Bennet “God will do what He says He will do, and I want to be a part of it,” Vera says with confidence. This confidence is forged from years of seeing victories from God’s faithful hands at work among people who are resistant to the truth of the gospel. Vera works in one of the most desolate places, deep in the desert, where nearly the entire population is Muslim. IMB missionary Vera must be strategic in how she works among the people, meeting practical needs to build … [Read more...]
