MAY 1, 2008: Pray that Lorena (PacRim) and her MK students will see opportunities to share Christ with national students.//LES: Pray for improved health for Carla Bickers so she will have more freedom to serve the Lord.//TJ: Pray for the millions who grope in darkness to have the opportunity to see the light.
MAY 2: Ask the Father to bless Melinda Cobb (IL) and Carol Laws (KS) as they bless others through their ministries. Thank God for the years of ministry of Gerald Harvey (ret. CESA).//LES: Pray for committed interpreters to help the Melvins in their language study.
MAY 3: Pray for Jack Thomas (MAC) to have safety in travel as he shares the Gospel with the lost. Pray for the Deaf Interpreters Training Workshop today.//PR/VI: Pray for the WMU members who meet early on Saturday mornings to pray for their communities.
MAY 4: Pray that Debbie Hammer (CEEur) will develop meaningful relationships that allow her to share her faith in an area cold to Christianity.//PR/VI: Lift up Rosa Cruz, our WMU President as she leads us to do our part in the partnership agreement.
MAY 5: Ask that Jennifer Mackey (MD) and Beth Gestring (LES) will adjust well to recent moves and find ways to relate to others in their new assignments.//PR/VI: Pray for our churches without pastors at this time.
MAY 6: Lift up MK’s graduating from college this month and making life decisions.//LES: Pray for each pastor to have a God-given vision for his ministry in Lesotho.//PR/VI: Ask God to help us see new challenges for our churches and WMU groups.
MAY 7: Thank God for our M-Counter meeting in Raytown last month and pray that it will result in new vision for MO WMU and Women’s Ministry.//LES: Ask the Lord to keep Sefiri faithful in his senior year at the seminary.// PR/VI: Lift up Nellie Torrado and the burdens she bears as our executive director.
MAY 8: Pray that Sandra Bryant (MO) will be encouraged in her work through the help of local WMU members. Thank God for the years of faithful ministry of Margie Wakefield (ret. PacRim) and Virginia Highfill (ret. PacRim). //LES: Pray for safety for all the Basotho Team members as they live and travel in Lesotho.
MAY 9: Pray for good health and safety for journeyman Emily (CAsia). Lift up those leaving today for the El Salvador mission vision trip.//PR/VI: Lift up Yaminna Morales as she directs our language ministries.
MAY 10: Thank God for the opportunities Blake Hardcastle (DE) to help mold the lives of college students.//PR/VI: Pray for the New Jerusalem Spanish congregation that has been meeting in a home and is seeking funds to put up a church building.
MAY 11: Pray that MK Andy Janz (12, CESAfr) will make national friends and be able to share God’s love with them. Thank God for the years of ministry of LaNell Barnes (ret. NAME).//LES: Pray for MK Eli Melvin (14) to find ways to join his parents in reaching the lost during the school break coming up.
MAY 12: Ask the Lord to lead Sharon Bielinski (MAC) to those who will be open to receiving the message of Christ.//TJ: Pray for Christian students to find bold but safe ways to share their faith among other young people.
MAY 13: Pray for patience and insight as Jennifer Duncan (PacRim) studies the difficult Thai language. Ask the Lord to bless Jim Wilkins (ret. WAfr) with good health as he continues sharing God’s love. Lift up the ministries and personal needs of Joy Barker (SC).
MAY 14: Pray that Bill M (EAsia) and Glenda Terrill (CEEur) will find new ways to reach out in Jesus’ name to the needs around them.//LES: Pray for the Melvins as they lead two volunteer teams coming this month and for the interpreters needed for the projects.
MAY 15: Pray for John Weaver (MAC) and Bill Rowland (SAM) to know God’s leadership into new areas of outreach. Remember the personal and spiritual needs of Kelly Brittain (MD). Ask that MK Evangelia (2, MAC) will grow in her knowledge of God’s love for her.//TJ: Pray that God will send faithful Christian teachers to the international school.
MAY 16: Ask that Joe Hoover (MAC) will find joy in the Lord daily. Ask that MK Johnny (16, CEEur) will be confident that God has a special plan for his life and desire to know it. Thank God for the years of service of Jon Caudle (ret. WV).//LES: Pray for David Bickers as he teaches leadership skills to pastors.
MAY 17: Pray for our high school graduating MK’s who will be leaving the land of their childhood to come to the U. S. A. for college.//PR/VI: Lift up Adrienne Durso in her responsibilities as secretary of our WMU.
MAY 18: Pray that the life of Don C. (CEEur) may exemplify his teaching and open new opportunities. Pray that MK Jacob McAnally (16, SAM) will be able to share God’s love with national friends.//LES: Pray that God will provide effective summer missionaries to help us develop new directions of ministry.
MAY 19: Lift up the work of Danny Decker (MO) as he leads our state volunteers in Disaster Relief ministries.//LES: Pray that those trained in Chronological Storying will lead others to Christ as they use their skills.//TJ: Pray that young Christians will reject ancestor worship and follow the teachings of Jesus.
MAY 20: Pray for Charles Hailey (CEEur) to experience and share the joy of the Lord in every contact. Thank God for the years of service Martha Rees (ret. MAC) has given to the Lord.//PR/VI: Pray for our vice presidents; Sylvellena, Raquel, Myrna and Marisol and their families as they give their time to help in WMU organizations.
MAY 21: Pray for Ron Winstead (ret. EAsia) to share the peace that passes all understanding in every contact he makes. Jen H. (PacRim) asks us to pray for a volunteer speech therapist needed this summer. Pray for Christine Haley (SAM) and Megan Brewster (SAM) as they seek ways to minister in Jesus’ name. Ask that MK
Nathan (6, PacRim) will enjoy the challenge of first grade. Pray for MK Andrea Paris (20, MAC) as she studies in a local university. Lift up MK Jacob Lee (4, WAfr) as he makes adjustments to life in Africa.
MAY 22: Pray that Mark Grossman (CESA) will know God’s presence and leadership in his ministry and personal life.//LES: Pray that Melvins will receive approval to teach True Love Waits and develop support clubs in local schools.
MAY 23: Pray for Margaret Black (VA) and Joan Frisby (ret. MO) to receive a special blessing today as they bless others. Ask that MK Jon R (22, LF) will be able to influence other young people with missions enthusiasm.//LES: Pray for the Dials as they get back into the work after stateside assignment.
MAY 24: Pray for MK Laura Purl (17, WAfr) and MK Dayla Rowland (21, SAM) to see God’s leadership in decisions they are facing. Ask that MK Mary (8, PacRim) will find national playmates with whom to enjoy her new cultural setting.//PR/VI: Lift up the prison ministry being developed by WMU volunteers.
MAY 25: Pray for Theodore Blaylock (SAM) to know the wisest use of his time and energy. Ask that MK Stephen Sloas (19, MAC) will have confidence in God’s leadership in his life. Ask that MK Caelyn Wilbanks (3, WEur) will have positive learning experiences through contacts with her parents’ student ministry.//LES: Tom Melvin asks for strategy discernment to revitalize the Maputsoe Church.
MAY 26: Remember Missouri churches and communities rebuilding from winter storm damage.//LES: Praise the Lord for our faithful prayer warriors.//PR/VI: Pray that our women will be alert to needs around them that they can meet in the name of Jesus and thus share His love.
MAY 27: Ask that Amy Purl (WAfr) will find creative opportunities to share Christ in an alien culture. Pray for MK Caleb (17, CEEur) to know God’s leading as he develops independence. Thank God that MK Haven Spannagel (2, WAfr) and her family finally got back to the field safely with all their luggage intact. Pray for the young people in Summer Missions Orientation this week.
MAY 28: Pray for protection and discernment for Jamie (LF). Pray that Laveta Thompson (ret. SAM) will be blessed today as she blesses others. Ask that MK Joy Barbour (9, CESA) will grow in her awareness of God’s love for her.//LES: Pray that our national pastors will have a burden for their own people.
MAY 29: Pray that MK Zach (6, PacRim) will develop a compassionate heart as he sees so many around him suffering from hunger and physical needs.//PR/VI: Pray for the Missouri team preparing to go help with camps next month and for the local directors, Lilliam Pineyro and Rosa Valez.
MAY 30: Ask that Fran (PacRim) will be able to share the joy she has in Christ through every contact she makes. Pray for MK Samuel Zwink (10, SAM) and MK Veronica Jensen (13, CESA) to use their talents and God-given skills to bless others in His name. Pray that Diana Owen (TX) and Dorothy Simmons (MO) will be able to see God working through their lives daily.
May 31: Pray that Gayle Hill (CEEur) will not grow weary in well-doing. Pray for MK Evan Argil (18, MAC) to know God’s loving presence as he becomes independent of his family. Pray that Ben Hess (MO) and Rosalinda Williamson (MO) will be encouraged by local WMU involvement in their ministries.//LES: Remember our families back home in the U. S. A.
