Because the Christian Faith is not science. It is a Faith system that science cannot answer. It's like comparing apple to oranges. You cannot prove Christianity as a scientific theory, simply becuase it is NOT a scientific theory. I'm not questioning the historical accuracy of the Bible or it's inerrancy I'm simply stating that Science's function is not to "prove" things. It's simply knowledge of the working world that changes over time when new knowledge replaces the old.

Wow, I had thought this exact same thing but didn't quite have the words to describe is as detailed as this. I have felt disturbed about Lady Gaga with her cult following - I knew something more than just music was going on there and that it wasn't good. "Little Monsters" (her fans)- some of them admit to worshiping her as their god or say that she is their religion. How sad that young kids are being led in this way. She is not the truth...for her to say, "I hate the truth" just so clearly shows her opposition to the true God. You are right that she has created a movement, and a very deceptive one because it claims to include God and treating others lovingly - tenants of the Christian faith - yet it doesn't exalt the true God and instead calls our sins okay. This is really so sad to me...that people buy this faux-religion that she puts out. She is a young, confused woman herself - she is not to be worshiped by other people...she is distracting young people from knowing the important aspects of life and the actual truth.

As I was reading about your church I felt the need to share with you my experience with a large Southern Baptist church. I was lost when I started attending the church I never felt intimidated all I felt was love and acceptance.

My church meets in small groups called bible study thats where I discovered I was an unsaved man in desperate need of Jesus Christ.

In my church the dress is from jeans to suits dresses to slacks my pastor dresses business casual our youth pastor is always in jeans.

Not all churches are so holy that they are of no earthly good that includes Southern Baptist churches.

I'am very happy for your calling in St.Charles and will pray for God to bless your efforts to reach the lost it sound like your church is very special.

I do not feel free to name names but I do know two folks your church has helped get their lives turned in the right direction going forward with Jesus Christ.

God Bless

Part of the reluctance of many people of all ages to get involved in even associational life is, I perceive, partly due to the simple high cost of travel and the stressful economic times. But, to specifically get younger pastors involved I believe we will need to greatly increase the use of technology for many of the meetings that take place - teleconferencing, etc. Then, past that, I think the local church needs to view it as a privilege to have a pastor who is involved in denominational life and support him in that endeavor, same for lay persons. For example, offer to set up an expense account to cover travel to and from meetings, especially state conventions, for both the pastor and the messengers.

We need people to stay involved, not just go to convention when it is within driving distance of their home. I personally think it is enough of a sacrifice of time for anyone to go, let alone having to bear all the burden of the travel, lodging and meals while there. Many simply can't afford this, especially the younger ones.

Micah.
Thanks for a get article. As one of the 'younger' Director of Missions in the MBC, I do hope I can be a friend and help to those coming into leadership in our churches and set a positive tone for those with questions about our state convention. To God be the Glory in what all of us seek to do in His name.
Blessings.

If the power of God is so strong, then why are your children so easily led away from it? What is it that makes scientific-based thinking so compelling?
