Missouri DR responds to New Mexico wildfires
RUIDOSO, N.M. – Sometimes people have a bad day and then sometimes they have a “really bad day.” For 207 homeowners in the mountains of southern New Mexico, it was a really bad day on April 12th. A windstorm blew in with 90 MPH winds and knocked down a power line. That in turn sparked a wildfire across the mountains full of dry timber. DR sends meals to Ukraine
JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief (MODR) is working with partner organizations to provide food for Ukrainians who are being impacted by war with Russia in their homeland. Missouri Baptist University theatre raises more than $3,000 for Send Relief, Ukraine
ST. LOUIS (BP) – “Fools” is a comedy play and “one long-running gag,” said Kasey Cox, director of theatre and dance for Missouri Baptist University (MBU). From March 24-27, though, Cox and her crew used it to raise $3,146.49 for a serious subject, sending those funds through Send Relief to aid Ukrainian refugees. JEFFERSON CITY – There are seven disaster relief (DR) shower trailers scattered around Missouri which are used for volunteers and disaster survivors when disasters strike. MBC Executive Board sets $15 million CP goal
JEFFERSON CITY – During their March 7-8 meeting here, Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) executive board members set the 2023 Cooperative Program (CP) allocation goals and responded to motions from two messengers at the 2021 MBC annual meeting. Collegiate students invited to apply for DR internships
JEFFERSON CITY – A paid internship is available for about a dozen college and university students through the Missouri Baptist Convention Disaster Relief ministry (MODR). The student interns will be trained in various areas of Disaster Relief ministry and may travel to various parts of the U.S. to serve people impacted by disasters. NEOSHO – Aaron Werner is the new collegiate ministry leader for the Missouri Baptist Convention’s Disaster Relief (DR) ministry. New Baptist Home at Smithville starts renovations with help from Missouri DR
SMITHVILLE – Baptist Homes and Healthcare Ministries have purchased a nursing care facility in Smithville formerly known as Smithville Living Center. They plan to remodel it, and it will reopen as a facility which will also offer specialized services for aging veterans.
