Lewistown – The First Baptist Church of Lewistown will sponsor its second annual God and Family Crusade Pastors’ Conference.
The conference is Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. The theme is “Take My Life,” based on Eph. 4:23-24.
Lewistown Pastor Ted Middleton said while it is open to anyone, the conference focus is to encourage pastors.
“I hope they come and get excited and go back and get their churches excited. Churches in Northeast Missouri are in decline, not necessarily the fault of any pastor. I know when I get a shot in the arm it spreads to the church. Pastors need to be fed too,” Middleton said.
Gospel group Master’s Voice will lead in worship. Speakers will be Missouri Baptist Convention Evangelism Strategist Mark Snowden; Pastor Charlie Sharpe of the Heartland Community Church; Jeff Andersen, pastor of Calvary Baptist in Hannibal; John Yeats, Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) executive director, and Wes Hammond, president of the MBC and pastor of First Baptist, Paris.
Middleton said there would also be a video shown geared to Northeast Missouri from Southern Baptist Convention President Fred Luter. A conference-invitation video by Robert Jeffers of First Baptist, Dallas, Texas, was sent to MBC and may be available to all DOMs.
The Lewistown church will provide a lunch.
